"Siniscola is the Sardinia that hasn't been 'discovered' by mass tourism. An eastern coast where beaches — La Caletta, Capo Comino, Berchida, Bidderosa — alternate white sand and century-old pine forests. Eight kilometres from Cala Gonone, easy access from Olbia."

Siniscola is a municipality of around 11,000 inhabitants on the eastern coast of Sardinia, in the province of Nuoro. The real town is inland, at the foot of Monte Albo, but the tourist area is concentrated on the coast: 🏖️ La Caletta, the main seaside hamlet, and a series of beaches stretching for almost 20 kilometres.
It is one of those places that mass tourism has not yet overrun. The eastern coast (Baronia di Siniscola) is less known than the Costa Smeralda and less celebrated than Cala Gonone, but it offers some of the most spectacular white beaches in Sardinia — including protected areas such as Bidderosa, accessible only by booking and with limited numbers.
We at AffittaSardegna directly manage 18 properties in Siniscola since 2011 — a significant portfolio covering homes in the town centre, apartments near the La Caletta beaches, and small villas in the Capo Comino area. It is our second strongest area on the eastern coast after Cala Gonone.
The Siniscola coast stretches for about 20 kilometres and includes some of Sardinia's most award-winning beaches. All reachable by car in under 15 minutes from the town centre.
The main seaside hamlet. An urban pale-sand beach, a marina, restaurants, supermarkets. A lively but measured atmosphere, perfect for those who want everything within reach.
A protected nature reserve — capped access (200 cars/day) with compulsory booking. Five coves set among the pine forest. One of Sardinia's most memorable experiences.
A wide beach with shifting dunes behind it and centuries-old junipers. A historic lighthouse, a wild atmosphere, free parking. Among the most photogenic on the coast.
2 km di sabbia bianca finissima, mare turchese, sistema dunale protetto. Premiata da Legambiente tra le “5 vele”. Ingresso libero ma parcheggi limitati.
A fishing village with a small harbour, a serviced beach, fish restaurants. A homely atmosphere, great for families with children.
North of Capo Comino, wild, protected dunes, frequented by locals. A primitive atmosphere, no services. For those seeking total isolation.
Costo: 9€ a auto, gratuito a piedi/bici. Misura necessaria che ha salvato l’ecosistema dalla pressione turistica selvaggia.
From La Caletta or from the port of Santa Lucia, boats leave for the Gulf of Orosei — Cala Luna, Cala Gonone, Cala Mariolu, Cala Goloritzé. One of the most spectacular coastlines in the Mediterranean. Day tour, average cost €50-80 per person.
The limestone massif of Monte Albo (1,127 m) towers over Siniscola with spectacular walls. Trails for every level, from easy walks to climbing routes. Views over the Gulf of Orosei and the Tyrrhenian Sea. Season: October-May.
Siniscola is an area of authentic agro-pastoral production. Su Filindeu (wool pasta, UNESCO-recognised), sheep's cheese, Cannonau wine from Nuoro, pane carasau. Dairies open to visits, tasting cost €10-15 per person.
Equestrian centres inland organise horse rides across the Capo Comino dunes and Monte Albo forests. Suitable for beginners. Cost €30-50 per person for 1-2 hours.
The rocky seabed off Capo Comino is among the richest on the east coast. Dive schools in La Caletta organize guided dives and snorkelling tours, including for beginners.
A Siniscola l’auto è indispensabile — le spiagge sono distribuite su 20 km di costa. Confrontiamo tramite Discover Cars — average saving of 35% compared with the airport desk.
